In this After-Work Lecture, Hiren Dasani, CIO Emerging Markets at WhiteOak Capital, will build a bridge between rigorous fundamentals and real-world alpha generation in one of the most inefficient parts of global equities. Drawing on two decades of on-the-ground EM investing, he will show why outperformance in emerging markets is less about macro timing and more about disciplined stock selection, governance-aware research, and intrinsic value underwriting. The talk will unpack how investors can separate genuine compounders from «headline winners» using a cash-flow and returns lens (including WhiteOak’s OpcoFinco framework) to identify mispricing and avoid classic EM pitfalls. Expect a practical, process-driven session on how to turn complexity, volatility, and information gaps into an enduring edge – relevant for students and investment professionals alike.
