
Liechtenstein supports UNDP
The Government of the Principality of Liechtenstein has contributed 50,000 Swiss francs to the United Nations Development Programme.
The Government of the Principality of Liechtenstein has supported the United Nations Development Programme with a contribution of 50,000 Swiss francs for the year 2024. The UN organization supports 302 projects in various countries.
In a press release, the UN organization thanks Liechtenstein for its ongoing support. In accordance with the UNDP Strategic Plan 2022-2025, this latest contribution will ensure that the organization will be able to continue its important work in countries affected by protracted and overlapping crises.
The UNDP works to achieve sustainable development in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on democracy, conflict resolution and climate security. The organization uses its expertise to connect countries with the knowledge, resources and networks they need to achieve development breakthroughs. “With deep local knowledge and a wide global network, we work with partners to end poverty and reduce inequality,” says the UNDP of its expertise, adding that it also works to protect the planet and champions human rights.
According to the information provided, the UNDP and Liechtenstein are committed to advancing key development priorities, such as leveraging sustainable finance, in order to tackle key issues such as human trafficking and slavery, climate change and conflict. The UNDP says it is looking forward to “a continued and strengthened partnership with Liechtenstein to support countries in accelerating the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development.”
