Where is the law on foundations enshrined?
The Liechtenstein Foundation Law is part of the Liechtenstein legal system relating to persons and companies.
The Liechtenstein Foundation Law, which originally dates back to 1926, was completely revised by the Law of 26 June 2008 on the Amendment of the Law on Persons and Companies (PGR), Law Gazette 2008 No. 220. The new foundation law came into force on 1 April 2009. The revised legal norms, which continue to follow the principles of a liberal and flexible foundation law, are still embedded in the PGR, but now form a self-contained system in the form of consecutive paragraphs (Art. 552 PGR).
