What does it mean that Liechtenstein is a member of the European Economic Area?
Liechtenstein is the only fund domicile that can offer both EU passporting and stamp duty privileges. This is a particular locational advantage for fund founders who want to offer their funds in both the EU and Switzerland. Since funds are also exempt from tax in Liechtenstein, this results in a double tax advantage compared to other locations that levy their own taxes on funds, such as the subscription tax (‘Taxe d’abonnement’).
