What are the advantages of asset tokenisation?
- Access for small investors to markets that were previously reserved for institutional
investors. - Tokenised assets can be traded 24 hours a day and with greater ease, which can increase
the liquidity of investments. - Assets that could thus far not be traded in parts (such as artworks or properties)
can be divided into digital units and made accessible to a broader
circle of investors. In this way, succession arrangements can also be divided into digital
units. - With blockchain technology, transactions are documented in a transparent manner that is
fundamentally safe from manipulation. - Processes are automated and sped up and costs are reduced.
- If a token is transferred, according to the TVTG the represented right must also
be transferred. - Access rights, holding periods or voting rights can be embedded directly in the token,
which increases legal certainty and reduces the potential for misuse.
