Is Liechtenstein a member of the European Union?
No, Liechtenstein is not a member of the European Union (EU). However, it is very closely integrated into European structures through other agreements. For example, Liechtenstein has been a member of the European Economic Area (EEA) since 1995 and thus has access to the EU single market with the free movement of goods, services and capital. Furthermore, Liechtenstein is a member of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), alongside Switzerland, Norway and Iceland.
