How long does it take for a fund to be authorised in Liechtenstein?
In Liechtenstein, the law regulates the maximum duration of the authorisation procedure for UCITS funds. It is not allowed to exceed a period of 10 business days. For alternative investment funds (AIF), notification to the Financial Market Authority (FMA) is sufficient. Nevertheless, they are regulated and directly supervised. If the AIF is intended for distribution, a distribution notification is required, which is usually confirmed by the FMA within four to five business days (a maximum of 20 business days is permitted by law).
