How is charitablestatus defined in Liechtenstein?

Liechtenstein’s law on persons and companies sets out which activities are regarded as charitable. Foundations are often active in various fields, and it is rarely possible to draw clear distinctions between the individual categories.

Dr Thomas Zwiefelhofer is President of the Association of Liechtenstein Charitable Foundations and Trusts and a member of the Group Executive Board of the First Advisory Group. He holds a doctorate in law. From 2013 to 2017, he served as Minister for the Interior, Justice and Economic Affairs in the Liechtenstein Government, as well as Deputy Prime Minister.
