How does a Liechtenstein foundation work?

Share

A foundation is a legally and economically independent special-purpose fund that is established as a legal entity (legal person) by the unilateral declaration of intent of the founder. The founder dedicates the specifically designated foundation assets and determines the specific outwardly directed purpose of the foundation and its beneficiaries.

The purposes of the foundation may be charitable or private in nature. The purpose must be specified in the foundation deed. The administrative body of the foundation is the foundation board.
