Liechtenstein has a strong, internationally recognised financial market supervisory authority. The Financial Market Authority Liechtenstein (FMA) is an independent, integrated supervisory authority that oversees financial market participants in the Liechtenstein financial centre. It enforces international standards related to the supervision of financial market participants.

The FMA is a member of all European and major global organisations dealing with financial market supervision and regulation. As a member of the EEA, financial market participants in Liechtenstein are subject to the same legal requirements as those in EU countries.
