Liechtenstein is a member of the European Economic Area – what does this mean?

Due to the small size of its domestic market, Liechtenstein is strongly export-oriented. Unlike Switzerland, Liechtenstein joined the European Economic Area (EEA) in 1995. The EEA Agreement is an economic agreement that guarantees Liechtenstein companies and service providers full access to the entire European single market and ensures the free movement of goods, services, capital and persons.
